Solintal LRD, in a consortium with the company specialized in construction, public works, and defense services, Max Equipment, has completed the project of shielding the cabin of 3 Weycor wheel loaders. This removable structure commissioned for the Spanish Army improves the protection of the operating crew, thanks to ballistic glass with Stanag protection level 2, and to Armox 500 bulletproof steel plates, the most resistant in the world and made with cleaner steels than most.
The project, distributed from the Guadalajara Engineer Material Park and Maintenance Center (PCMMI), is already integrated as an essential element for the work carried out by the Army Corps of Engineers.
The tool has the potential structure used in the design of armored vehicles against ballistic threats and involved in national security missions and police operations. Likewise, it provides 360-degree protection for the workers inside it, in addition to offering a fully expanded field of vision of the machine and surrounding areas.
Along with this, a series of ceiling spotlight holders have also been included, and three cameras have been placed on the exterior, so that the operator can view blind spots from inside the structure. Its emergency exit hatch offers operators the ability to quickly exit the cabin, while providing rescue personnel critical access to those inside.
