The Spanish Association of Exporting Manufacturers of Machinery for Construction, Public Works and Mining (ANMOPYC) and the Technological Institute of Aragon (ITA) have signed an agreement to promote technological innovation, sustainability and competitiveness in the industrial and sustainable construction sector.
The president of the ITA Governing Council, Mar Vaquero, and on her behalf the director of ITA, Esther Borao, as well as the president of ANMOPYC, Rafael Simón Faus, have agreed on the document, dated December 17, 2024.
This strategic collaboration commits them to promote collaborative R&D&I projects, aligned with national and European funding programs, for the development and adoption of advanced technologies to promote digitization and sustainability in the sector. Also, to promote technology transfer and the implementation of digitization, sustainability and Industry 4.0 solutions in ANMOPYC member companies. To promote outreach activities, specialized training, technology watch and competitive intelligence, to strengthen the capacity for innovation and internationalization of companies in the sector.
In addition, to provide technical support in testing, certification and regulatory compliance, ensuring product compliance with applicable legislation and technical standards, especially in the European Union. And to design and implement joint initiatives aimed at retaining and attracting talent to the sector, developing training and technology dissemination programs that enhance the interest of qualified professionals and new generations in the field of machinery for construction, public works and mining.
In order to achieve these objectives, both parties will carry out joint actions that allow for the shared use of human, technical and technological resources, guaranteeing a positive impact on their respective activities, on the industrial ecosystem of the sector and on the generation of high value-added job opportunities.
This agreement will involve the participation of ITA in the management and working bodies of ANMOPYC, including its presence in the Steering Committee and in the working commissions. Collaborate in the creation and dynamization of an Industrial Machinery Technology Platform, led by ANMOPYC, to bring together companies, research centers, universities and other key players in the sector. It will promote joint participation in applied research, technological development and innovation projects aimed at the design of advanced solutions in machinery for construction, mining and public works. They will collaborate in the promotion of projects in European programs such as Horizon Europe, focused on digitalization, decarbonization and circular economy.
And, also, to cooperate in the identification, design and presentation of R&D&I projects to national programs, such as those managed by the CDTI, and other national and regional calls, facilitating access to funding and strengthening the sector's capacity for innovation. The transfer of advanced technologies developed by ITA to ANMOPYC member companies will be promoted, facilitating the incorporation of innovation in their products and processes. They will collaborate in the integration of advanced technologies such as digital twins, simulation and predictive maintenance systems in the equipment manufactured by ANMOPYC members. And they will jointly promote the development of automated and robotic systems to improve operational efficiency in construction and mining machinery.
They will also collaborate in the design and development of more efficient and sustainable machinery, integrating recycled or bio-based materials, optimizing energy efficiency, promoting the use of alternative fuels and adopting advanced technological solutions to reduce their environmental impact throughout their life cycle. They will create spaces for testing and demonstration of innovative technologies developed in collaboration, with the participation of ANMOPYC companies. As well as a shared technology watch system to detect relevant developments in regulations, standards and emerging technologies.
This signed commitment involves the joint development of sectoral reports, technology radars and specific market studies to identify technological trends and opportunities in international markets. Identify opportunities for the commercialization of technologically advanced machinery in international markets, based on the experience of both entities.
They will provide advanced testing and calibration services to ANMOPYC companies to ensure the conformity of their products with technical and legal regulations. Perform specific tests in ITA laboratories, with preferential rates for ANMOPYC member companies. Develop training programs and technical advice for the implementation of digital technologies and Industry 4.0 in companies associated with ANMOPYC. Organization of joint courses on technical regulations and new technologies applied to the machinery sector. Conducting technical seminars and workshops on technological trends, innovation and regulatory challenges in the sector. Encourage the joint presence of ANMOPYC and ITA in international events such as BAUMA and SMOPYC, as well as in technical and scientific forums, to promote innovative technologies, strengthen the visibility of the sector and generate collaboration networks at national and international level.
ANMOPYC and ITA will disseminate the professional and technological opportunities of the sector to position it as an attractive field for new generations and qualified professionals.
They will promote the organization of outreach and talent attraction initiatives, for example, by participating in job fairs, promoting networking events and developing internship programs in companies in the sector.
They will design mentoring and training programs for young professionals and students, encouraging their incorporation and loyalty in the sector.
They will develop technical and professional training programs in collaboration with universities and training centers, focused on strategic areas such as digitalization, sustainability and innovation.
