ANMOPYC and ITA Sign a Collaboration Agreement
The aim is to drive technological innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness within the industry
The Spanish Association of Exporting Manufacturers of Construction, Public Works, and Mining Equipment (ANMOPYC) and the Aragón Technological Institute (ITA) have signed an agreement to promote technological innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness in the industrial and sustainable construction sector.
The President of ITA's Governing Council, Ms. Mar Vaquero, represented by ITA Director Ms. Esther Borao, along with ANMOPYC President Mr. Rafael Simón Faus, formalized the agreement on December 17, 2024.
This strategic collaboration commits both entities to fostering joint R&D&I projects aligned with national and European funding programs. The focus is on developing and adopting advanced technologies that propel digitalization and sustainability within the sector. Additionally, they aim to promote technological transfer and implement solutions centered on digitalization, sustainability, and Industry 4.0 for ANMOPYC member companies. The agreement also includes activities like specialized training, technological awareness, and competitive intelligence to strengthen innovation and internationalization capabilities.
Key Objectives:
Technical Support: ITA will assist with testing, certifications, and regulatory compliance to ensure products meet applicable legislation and standards, especially within the European Union.
Talent Retention and Attraction: Initiatives to attract and retain talent in the sector will include educational programs and outreach to inspire skilled professionals and new generations to enter the field of construction, public works, and mining machinery.
Joint Resource Utilization: ITA and ANMOPYC will share human, technical, and technological resources, ensuring a positive impact on their activities, the industrial ecosystem, and high-value job creation.
Collaboration Initiatives:
Participation in Governance: ITA will join ANMOPYC's management bodies, including the Steering Committee and working groups.
Technological Platform Creation: A new Industrial Machinery Technology Platform, led by ANMOPYC, will unite companies, research centers, universities, and key stakeholders.
European and National Project Collaboration: Both entities will collaborate on applied research projects under programs like Horizon Europe, focusing on digitalization, decarbonization, and circular economy. They will also pursue funding opportunities for R&D&I projects from national and regional programs.
Technology Integration: Advanced technologies such as digital twins, simulation, and predictive maintenance systems will be integrated into ANMOPYC members’ machinery.
Environmental Sustainability:
Efforts will be made to design machinery incorporating recycled or bio-based materials, improve energy efficiency, and adopt alternative fuels. They will create testing and demonstration spaces for innovative technologies and establish a shared technology monitoring system to stay updated on emerging standards and technologies.
Strengthening Global Presence:
International Engagement: Participation in events like BAUMA and SMOPYC and in technical and scientific forums will help promote the sector's innovations and expand its international visibility.
Market Insights: Sector reports, technology radars, and market studies will identify technological trends and opportunities for advanced machinery commercialization.
Professional Development and Training:
Programs will include mentoring, capacity building, and partnerships with universities and training centers focusing on digitalization, sustainability, and innovation. ANMOPYC and ITA aim to position the sector as an attractive field for qualified professionals and future generations.
