Himoinsa and Repsol reinforce their partnership for Spain and Portugal
Both companies have signed an action plan for 2023
Himoinsa, a leading international company in the manufacture of generator sets, and Repsol, a global multi-energy company, which is leading the energy transition and has set itself the goal of being zero net emissions by 2050, have teamed up to offer their customers in Spain and Portugal a turnkey solution for electricity generation through the use of LPG generator sets, a transitional power source recognised by the European Union as an alternative fuel in Directive 2014/94/EU, and which can also generate savings in machinery operating costs.
“LPG, in addition to saving money compared to traditional fuels at the moment, is considered a transitional power source and reduces carbon emissions and other important pollutants such as CO2, NOx and particulate matter,” noted Manuel Aguilera, Global Gas Unit Head, who explains that "Himoinsa is committed to generating electricity with gas as a vehicle for using fuels with a low carbon footprint".
Himoinsa’s commitment is to promote the transition towards a sustainable solution by combining diesel generators with alternative energy solutions (biodiesel, battery, storage, hydrogen, etc.) with the LPG generator set being one of the key products in this transition process. In this context, “this agreement with Repsol has been a strategic decision to guarantee a comprehensive gas power solution to our customers,” added Aguilera.
