IMPLASER: the role of Companies in Addressing Disability
The company is strongly committed to working towards improving accessibility and inclusion
Achieving a more inclusive society and making environments, products, and services more accessible should be a daily goal for businesses, organizations, and institutions. Companies can contribute through actions such as:
- Promoting Inclusion in the Workplace. Inclusion goes beyond acceptance. Companies can actively work to create an environment where all individuals feel valued and respected regardless of their abilities. This involves implementing inclusive policies, adapting workspaces, and fostering a corporate culture that promotes diversity.
- Creating Accessible Products and Services. In addition to ensuring the inclusion of their workforce, companies must strive to make their products and services accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. This demonstrates a commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Training and Sensitization. Celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities every December raises awareness of the challenges faced by people with disabilities. Companies have the capacity to educate and sensitize employees and customers about the importance of inclusion.
- Contributing to Social Change. Companies can be agents of social change by actively promoting inclusion. Adopting inclusive policies benefits the team and sets an ethical standard that can inspire society and other companies to follow suit.
Firm Commitment to Accessibility and Inclusion
Implaser is firmly committed to working every day to improve accessibility and inclusion. They are dedicated to making environments understandable for everyone, especially individuals with disabilities. Accessible environments reduce inequalities and make life more comfortable for 100% of people.
Since the creation of Implaser's accessibility department, efforts have been made to offer an extensive range of products to provide solutions for their clients' projects. Their Research, Development, and Innovation (I+D+i) department embraces new technologies as an integrative element for everyone, working with the most innovative systems in the market to offer novel accessibility products and services.
In 2023, Implaser has undertaken various actions related to accessibility, including:
Space Conditioning
Implaser has the capability to condition any type of space to make it more accessible. Recent improvements in the María Guerrero and Valle Inclán theaters of the Centro Dramático Nacional are examples. They enhance user autonomy and make the theater experience more comfortable, especially for people with disabilities.
- Tactile pathways to the service point. This allows individuals with blindness or low vision to locate the service point, where a human facilitator will assist and support them as needed.
- Tactile signaling on staircases and ramps during boarding and disembarking. These signals help detect changes in elevation, preventing accidents and providing orientation in space for individuals with low vision or blindness.
- Redesign of building signage. Pictograms enhance message comprehension for everyone, with a particular focus on individuals with cognitive disabilities. Additionally, they have implemented texts in high relief and Braille for people with blindness or low vision.
- Directories. These aids help individuals navigate through the space, facilitating smooth movement within the building. They enhance the user experience, providing comfort and security.
- Evacuation chairs. These chairs enable the evacuation of individuals with disabilities or those who may not be able to evacuate on their own.
Participation in Congresses
For the second consecutive year, Implaser, in collaboration with the ARS Foundation, made the National Congress of Shopping Centers and Parks accessible. They implemented solutions for better autonomy in signage, guidance, evacuation, furniture, content, and participated in a roundtable discussion on accessibility trends, corporate and societal sensitivity, and the impact of new legislation.
Investment in Accessibility-Enhancing Products and Technologies
Implaser trusts various products and technologies that improve accessibility. They showcase these at important events such as the AccessAbilities Expo. One example is NaviLens technology, which provides information about environments through scanned codes without the need to bring the phone close.
Partnerships for Inclusion
Implaser maintains constant collaboration with companies, associations, and professionals working to facilitate accessibility and inclusion. Partnerships with organizations like the ARS Foundation, participation in events like the AIS Awards 2023, and connections with entities like CEDDD and ASEPAU demonstrate their commitment to inclusivity. Implaser's actions reflect a dedication to creating a more accessible and inclusive world, showcasing the transformative impact that businesses can have on societal attitudes and practices.
