This new association will be chaired by Rafael Sánchez Alcalá and will promote occupational risk prevention, promote vocational training and facilitate the adhesion of the self-employed to the sectoral pension plan.
The National Construction Confederation (CNC) recently announced the creation of the Asociación de Autónomos de la Construcción de España (CNC Autónomos), which, with the support of the National Federation of Self-Employed Workers' Associations (ATA), seeks to represent, protect and defend the 400,000 self-employed workers in the sector - who account for 30% of employment in the sector - before the various public administrations and national, regional and international institutions.
Rafael Sánchez Alcalá, president of Fadeco Contractors, the Andalusian construction employers“ association, will combine this position with the presidency of the new entity, which will advocate the prevention of occupational hazards among people covered by the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers. It should be noted that, together with SMEs, these make up 95% of the companies in the sector. In addition, CNC Autónomos reminds that ”construction brings together more than 12% of the self-employed in Spain, which already amount to more than 3.3 million".
