The Ministry of Industry and Tourism launches the annual call for grants for projects that promote the digitalization, sustainability and resilience of the industrial sector, with special attention to SMEs and strategic sectors..
The Call for CVI 2025, framed in the Plan for Recovery, Transformation and Resilience (PRTR), opens up a unique opportunity for the Spanish industrial fabric. With a total budget of 140 million euros in subsidies, The objective is to promote projects that contribute to the modernization, digitalization and sustainability of the industry, strengthening its competitiveness and resilience.
Commercial companies with their own legal personality that carry out an industrial activity are eligible for these grants if the activities for which they are requesting financial assistance are included in the activities listed in Annex I of this call for proposals.
The call is organized along three main lines. The first one, Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I), includes industrial research projects, experimental development and innovation in processes and organization, the latter reserved for SMEs. The second line, Innovation in Sustainability and Energy Efficiency, is aimed at innovative investments that improve environmental protection and energy saving. Finally, the third line, SME investment in R&D&I and Digitalization, finances tangible and intangible assets for the digital and sustainable transformation of production processes.
Projects must be aligned with one of the two defined thematic priorities: sustainable production solutions, that promote the optimization of resources, the reduction of emissions and the use of renewable energy; or sustainability-oriented digitization solutions, The company's products, which incorporate advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, industrial simulation or data analysis to improve energy efficiency.
As for economic requirements, the minimum financeable budget varies according to the line and the size of the company. For R&D&I projects, it ranges between 250,000 and 1,000,000 euros, for sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives it can reach between 250,000 and 5,000,000 euros. In the case of the line for SMEs for digitization, the minimum is between 150,000 and 250,000 euros. In addition, the bankable budget must represent at least the 60% of total submitted.
Grants may cover up to 80% of eligible cost, with limits ranging from 8.25 million euros for SME investment projects to 35 million for industrial research projects. Intensities vary according to the type of project and the size of the company, reaching up to 65% for SMEs in industrial research and up to 60% in environmental projects.
The deadline for submitting applications will begin on January 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and will end on February 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., The actions must be carried out in a maximum of three months, through the electronic office of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism. The actions must be executed in a maximum of 36 months The expenses incurred from the day after the application is submitted will be eligible for financing.
