The National Construction Confederation (CNC) and sectoral trade union organizations, Habitat CCOO y UGT FICA demanded from the Government, in a joint appearance, a modification of the De-indexation Law and its corresponding reference in the Public Sector Contracts Law, in view of the increase in construction costs that have caused, among other negative effects, that 10% of tenders and 21% of administrative concessions were left empty, according to the latest data from the Independent Office of Regulation and Supervision of Contracting of the Ministry of Finance. At the informative meeting held at the headquarters of the employers' association, the president of the CNC, Pedro Fernández Alén, and the general secretaries of CCOO del Hábitat and UGT FICA, Daniel Barragán and Mariano Hoya, respectively, insisted on the need to modify both laws to correct this situation that is affecting public contracting in general and, more specifically, those in the construction sector.
