The Support Program for Innovative Business Groupings (AEI) was created in 2006 by Order ITC/2691/2006 which, together with the Special Registry for the registration of such entities, regulated by Order IET/1444/2014, has constituted the main instrument of the cluster policy of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism.
Since then, important changes have taken place in the economy and in society, both nationally and internationally, which have made it necessary to adapt the program to the needs and challenges of each moment.
Following the use of funds from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, and in view of the challenges arising from the global economic crisis and the consequences of COVID-19, the need arose to approve new regulatory bases for the Innovative Business Clusters Support Program. This adjustment not only responds to the economic and social transformations that have taken place in recent years, but also seeks to respond to the new challenges posed by an increasingly complex and dynamic environment.
During the month of April, the Draft Ministerial Order establishing the Regulatory Bases for the Support Grants for Innovative Business Groups managed by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism was submitted for public hearing and information.
The main objective of this proposed amendment is to encourage, increase and improve collaboration between all the member entities of the AEI registry, with special attention to small and medium-sized companies, in order to strengthen the Spanish productive fabric to face the national and European challenges arising from an increasingly dynamic and demanding global context. Specifically, the update of the regulatory bases aims to support AEI and associated companies in the implementation of innovation projects that contribute to the competitiveness and strategic autonomy of Spanish companies, while promoting digitization and sustainability.
The National Machinery Cluster ANMOPYC has been registered in the Special Register of AEI since 2011, which allows its associates to access this exclusive line of subsidies in order to finance the implementation of innovation projects that contribute to strategic autonomy, digital transformation and ecological transition.
