Calls open for hiring and training of PhDs in the private sector

On December 6th, it
they published in the BOE the extracts of the resolutions by which they approve
the 2024 call for Torres Quevedo grants and the second call for
2024 aid for doctoral training in companies and other
«Industrial Doctorates» entities.

The objective of the Torres grants
Quevedo is to promote the realization of industrial research projects,
Pre-experimental development or feasibility studies in companies, centers
technological, technology innovation support centers, associations
business and science and technology parks, for which it is necessary
the hiring of people with a doctoral degree. With these
hiring, the aim is to promote the professional careers of staff
researcher, stimulate demand in the private sector for personnel
sufficiently prepared to undertake R&D plans and projects and to help
the consolidation of new technology companies.

Recruitment incentives for
these profiles will have a duration of three years, in the case of aid
Torres Quevedo, and four years in the case of “Doctoral" grants
”Industrial". The maximum insurable hiring costs may not be
exceeding 56,000 euros annually for Torres Quevedo grants and for “Industrial Doctorates” grants may not exceed 32,800 euros
annuals.

In the case of both aids, they will be able
being applicants and beneficiaries of the grants are the entities that at the time of submitting the grant application are
validly constituted, have tax residency or a permanent establishment in Spain and have
hiring capacity.

Beneficiary entities
may be, in the case of Torres Quevedo grants, the following:

  • Companies, among which

  • Technology centers.

For the “Industrial Doctorates” grants, the following remains:

public entities covered by Article 2.3 of Law 40/2015.

The maximum total amount of these
aid, in the case of the Torres Quevedo aid, amounts to 20,100,000 euros and
8 million euros, for the case of “Industrial Doctorates” grants. For
in both calls for proposals, the concession will be awarded on a competitive basis
